Static Carnival · The important things
Website privacy
Last updated: 5 November 2026.
This notice covers the Static Carnival Games and Education information websites. It does not replace the privacy notices for our games, Aplailasain or other linked services.
Who we are
These websites are provided by Static Carnival Technologies Limited, company number 17059001. Our registered office is The Old Church, The Green, Melkridge, Haltwhistle, United Kingdom, NE49 0LX.
For privacy questions or requests, email graham@staticcarnival.com.
Information used by these websites
The sites provide information about our games and education product. They do not provide accounts, contact forms, payments, advertising tools or visitor analytics. Their code does not set cookies or use local storage to track or remember visitors. Menu, filter and image-viewer choices are held only while you use the page; they are not saved to a visitor profile.
Fonts and images are served with the websites rather than loaded from third-party font or image services. Your browser may keep ordinary cached copies to load pages more efficiently.
When you visit, our hosting provider, Google Firebase Hosting, processes technical request information, including your IP address, to deliver and protect the websites. If you choose to email us, we receive your email address and the information you include. Please send only information needed for your enquiry.
Why we use information
For information we handle, our purposes and legal grounds are:
- Delivering and securing the websites: our legitimate interest in making the information available, maintaining the service and responding to misuse or technical problems.
- Answering enquiries and providing support: our legitimate interest in responding to the contact you choose to make and resolving related questions.
- Contracts and legal requirements: where handling particular information is necessary to take steps you request before a contract, fulfil a contract with you, or comply with a legal obligation, we rely on that ground for that purpose.
We rely on legitimate interests only where necessary and where your interests and rights do not override them, taking particular care with children's information. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting us. These grounds are not consent to advertising or tracking. Where processing requires consent, we seek it separately; it can be withdrawn without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Hosting, email and international processing
Google Firebase Hosting handles the technical requests needed to serve these sites. Email providers handle messages when you choose to contact us. This notice does not describe either provider as collecting no information.
Firebase Hosting uses Google's global infrastructure, so service information may be processed outside the UK. Google's Firebase Privacy and Security information explains its service and privacy arrangements. Processing locations and transfer arrangements depend on the provider and service involved. Contact us if you need details about a transfer involving information we control.
How long information is kept
Google states that Firebase Hosting retains IP addresses for a few months. This is Google's stated retention for its hosting service, rather than a retention period set by us. See its Firebase Privacy and Security information.
We keep enquiry and support messages until the enquiry and any related follow-up or complaint are resolved. We then delete them or remove identifying information from technical findings that remain useful. A legal requirement or unresolved dispute may require relevant records to be kept longer; we limit this to the records and period needed.
We review records at those points rather than keeping identifiable information indefinitely. Records independently retained by service providers follow their own arrangements; deleting our copy does not delete theirs.
Your choices and rights
You can contact us to ask about information we hold and request access, correction or deletion. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may also have rights to restrict processing, object to it, obtain a portable copy and withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.
You can raise a concern with us at graham@staticcarnival.com or complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
Children, games and education services
These information sites have no account registration or contact form for children or other visitors. Information provided directly in an email is handled as described above.
Aplailasain and our games are separate services with their own privacy information. Follow the relevant service's notice before using its account, learning, testing, purchase or other features. The Portraitwake Games Privacy notice describes Portraitwake only; it does not establish the practices of every Static Carnival game.
Changes to this notice
If the way these information sites handle data changes, we will update this notice. If we introduce optional cookies or other tracking that requires consent, we will seek the required consent before using it.
